Céu 空 ― 空をめぐる詩と音の旅 

2012年、SNSを通じて出会った三人の表現者がいました。
ポルトガルの音楽家 Gonçalo Pratas、詩人 Inês Pupo、そして日本の画家 池谷剛一。

それぞれの言葉、それぞれの音、それぞれの絵。
異なる文化を生きてきた三人が、同じ問いに惹かれました。空は誰のものか。生まれた瞬間、私たちは無意識に空を見上げる。
そこにあるのは、ひとつの空なのか、それぞれの心に映る空なのか。晴れの日も、嵐の日も、誰もが空の下で暮らし、問いを抱える。この絵本は、世界が閉塞感に支配されたコロナ禍で構想が深まりました。言葉と音、絵が海を越えて交わり、やがてポルトガル・リスボンのオリエンテ美術館にて2023年に初めて発表されました。ローンチコンサートではピアノと弦楽四重奏、フリューゲルホルンが響きわたり、朗読が空の物語を紡ぎました。同時に行われた子どもたちとの絵画ワークショップは、この作品が持つ普遍的な優しさを象徴する場となりました。

そして今、Céu 空は日本へと旅を続けます。
大阪万博では、ポルトガル語と日本語による朗読とともに、音楽と映像が交差する舞台を予定しています。東京・駐日ポルトガル大使館では、原画展とミニライブ、トークセッションを通して、物語の奥行きを体験していただけます。

空は、どこまでも広がり、すべてを包み込む存在です。
70億を超える人々がそれぞれの空を見つめています。その空は自分だけのものか。あるいは皆のものか。多くを語らずとも胸に響く問いが、言葉と音と絵を通して訪れる人の心にそっと届くことを願っています。
 

Céu 空 — A Journey of Poetry and Music Beneath the Sky

In 2012, three artists met through social media.
Portuguese musician Gonçalo Pratas, poet Inês Pupo, and Japanese painter Goichi Ikeya.
Each with their own words, their own sounds, their own images.
Coming from different cultures, the three were drawn to the same question: Whose is the sky?

The moment we are born, we instinctively look up at the sky.
Is what we see a single sky shared by all, or is it a sky reflected differently in each of our hearts?
On clear days and stormy days alike, everyone lives under the sky, carrying this question within them.

This picture book took shape during the COVID-19 pandemic, a time when the world was dominated by a sense of stagnation.
Words, music, and images crossed the sea and were first presented together in 2023 at the Oriente Museum in Lisbon, Portugal.
At the launch concert, the piano, string quartet, and flugelhorn resonated as the reading gave voice to the story of the sky.
The painting workshop held with children at the same time became a space symbolizing the universal gentleness this work embodies.

And now, Céu—Sky—continues its journey to Japan.
At Expo 2025 Osaka, a stage is planned where readings in Portuguese and Japanese will intertwine with music and visuals.
At the Embassy of Portugal in Tokyo, visitors will be able to experience the depth of the story through an original artwork exhibition, a mini live performance, and a talk session.

The sky is an ever-expanding presence that embraces everything.
More than seven billion people each gaze up at their own sky.
Is that sky theirs alone, or is it shared by all?
Without needing many words, this quietly resonant question is something we hope will reach the hearts of all who encounter it through words, sounds, and images.
